Information We Collect
We collect information needed to operate Dia, provide the service requested by merchants, support storefront chat conversations, and improve the product. This may include:
- Merchant account information, such as name, email address, shop domain, and Shopify store details.
- Shopify store data that Dia needs to function, including products, collections, inventory, content pages, articles, store policies, discounts, orders, customers, and related store information when permitted by the merchant through Shopify permissions.
- Storefront chat data, including conversations, shopper messages, assistant replies, product recommendations, handoff requests, and conversation metadata.
- Usage and analytics data, including feature usage, conversation outcomes, revenue attribution signals, app configuration, and operational metrics.
- Technical logs, such as IP address, requested URL, browser or user agent, timestamps, error logs, and security-related events.
How We Use Information
We use collected information to operate Dia and deliver the services requested by merchants. This includes:
- Authenticating merchants and operating the Shopify app.
- Answering shopper questions through the storefront chat assistant.
- Personalizing chat responses using relevant store, product, order, customer, policy, and storefront context.
- Providing product recommendations, order help, support handoff options, analytics, and revenue attribution.
- Maintaining security, preventing abuse, debugging issues, and improving service reliability.
- Contacting merchants about their account, service updates, product updates, support, and relevant marketing communications. Merchants can contact us to opt out of marketing messages.
AI Service Providers
Dia's chat features are provided with the help of trusted infrastructure and AI service providers. We may send relevant conversation and store context to these providers when needed to generate assistant responses and operate the service.
We do not authorize these providers to use Dia data for their own independent marketing purposes.
Cloudflare and Infrastructure
Dia uses Cloudflare and other trusted infrastructure services to host, secure, and deliver parts of the service. These providers may process technical information such as IP addresses, request metadata, logs, and security events as necessary to provide infrastructure services.
Cookies
Dia may use cookies or similar technologies for authentication, session management, app operation, security, and remembering relevant preferences. Dia does not sell personal information collected through cookies.
Sharing of Information
Dia does not sell, rent, or lease customer lists or personal information to third parties.
We may share information with trusted service providers only when needed to operate Dia, provide infrastructure, process AI-assisted chat responses, maintain security, provide support, or comply with legal obligations.

When a merchant uninstalls Dia, personalized records, store data, and related service data will be deleted within 30 days unless we are required to retain certain information for legal, security, fraud prevention, or compliance reasons.

The security of personal data is important to us. We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Dia is not intended for storing special category data, such as racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, genetic data, biometric data, health status, sex life, or sexual orientation. Merchants and shoppers should not submit this type of information to Dia.
Shopify Data and Merchant Responsibility
Merchants control the Shopify stores they connect to Dia and are responsible for ensuring their use of Dia complies with applicable laws, Shopify requirements, and their own privacy commitments to customers.
Shopify displays requested app permissions during installation. Dia uses approved permissions to provide the app's sales, support, chat, analytics, and storefront assistant functionality.

Our service may contain links to websites or services not operated by us. We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of third-party websites or services.
Online Privacy Policy Only
This Privacy Policy applies to Dia's online activities and services. It does not apply to information collected offline or through channels that are not operated by Dia.
